The newest year of the 'Symphonia' (symphony) has yet to be bottled and labeled, but we were fortunate enough to taste the wine made from pinot bianco before anyone else. In the past few years, pinot bianco has become forgotten, especially in the area of Veneto and Friuli, where pinot grigio reigns as king. For us, we prefer the intense, fruity white wine which tends to be smoother and more round.
Geretto-Merks' version of the wine is not only full and intense, but displays a vast number of fruits like apple, pear, pineapple and more exotic ones like guava and star fruit. It's warming to the soul, while also being fresh and crisp. It has a strong minerality, mainly sea salt or slate tastes. It was easy to drink and remained interesting after a few sips. We really enjoyed Symphonia and look forward to seeing how it matures. It will pair perfectly with baked or grilled white fish like orata, sea bass or tilapia.
Il nuovo vino Symphonia è 'pronto'però non è ancora imbottigliato ed etichettato.
Noi abbiamo avuto la fortuna di assaggiarlo prima di tutti. In questi anni il vitigno Pinot Bianco è stato trascurato specialmente nel Veneto e nel Friuli dove il Pinot Grigio regna sovrano. Preferiamo l'intensità e il frutto bianco che tende poi a diventare più vellutato e rotondo al gusto.
Il nuovo vino dei Geretto non possiede solo una buona intensità e corpo ma ha uno spettro di profumi di frutta come l'ananas, la mela, la pera e altri esotici tipo il guava . E' caldo nella sua anima ma si fonde con un ottima freschezza che si tramuta in mineralità dopo alcuni secondi di sale di mare. Migliora dopo alcuni sorsi. Aspettiamo la sua piena maturazione per ascoltarlo con accuratezza. Comunque di ottima caratura.
