Cabernet Sauvignon Scubla

On cold nights its a wonderful thing to sit by the fire with a glass of wine. To warm our insides this time we opened a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon by Scubla, 2004. We had originally acquired this bottle at the Scubla estate during Cantina Aperta last year. (Cantina Aperte is one day out of the year when almost all of the vineyards in Italy are open to public, so everyone can try the wines without appointment)
And so on this cold night in front of the fireplace, the four of us (we had friends over for dinner) we drank this bottle from Fruili-Venezia Giulia. A typical Cab, it had a ruby-red color with granite highlights and a desirable transperancy and consistancy. Perfumes were that of violas, cherries, vine tomatoes and touch of pepper. On the tongue it was warm and enticing with just the right amounts of sapidity and tannicity. A good intensity with a persistancy to follow.

Davanti al caminetto acceso quando fuori fa freddo è facile lasciarsi andare e il vino compagno d'avventura non deve mancare e anche questa volta non mancava.
Per scaldarci abbiamo scelto con una coppia d'amici di aprire una bottiglia di Cabernet Sauvignon di Scubla vendemmia 2004 .
Questa azienda la conosco bene infatti ho fatto visita due volte durante la manifestazione Cantine Aperte che si svolge durante il mese di maggio(da non mancare assolutamente).
I vini famosi di questa terra (Friuli-Venezia Giulia) sono i bianchi ma da un po' visto che la richiesta di mercato è spesso un vino rosso corposo e molto tinto, molte cantine si sono lanciate a impiantare per poi vinificare Cabernet Franc,Cabernet Sauvignon e Merlot.
Dal colore rosso rubino tendente al granato con una limpidezza e consistenza eccellenti traspira un bouquet di viola more marasche foglia di pomodor e pepe.Il gusto è secco caldo e morbido ha una buona sapidità, un tannino significativo inizialmemente ma con un finale un po' deludente.Ha una buona intensità e una PAI discreta.
