Ortrugo from Colli Piacentini "Sur Lie"

A very interesting, and surely not well-known wine, Ortrugo, from Colli Piacentini, the hills near Bologna, is actually quite good. The particular vineyard we tried is Croci, Tenuta Vitivinicola and their particularity is an Ortrugo 'sur lie' or with yeast left inside the bottle- making the wine sparkling. The grapes are hand picked, carefully choosing the best and making sure each in intact before maceration. A strong yellow color, aromatic and complex in its smell, the rareness of the wine alone was really intriguing. Dry, soft and structured; harmonious, refreshing and fantastically effervescent, the bottle was drunk in no time. Perfect for a hot, humid day, with or without some appetizers, if you can find this exquisite bottle, buy at least three!

Un vino sconosciuto ai molti ma molto interessante è sicuramente Mister Ortrugo proveniente dai Colli Piacentini vicino a Bologna. Noi abbiamo provato quello della Tenuta Vitivinicola Croci nella versione Sur Lie "cioè col fondo". Dopo la raccolta eseguita a mano c'è la macerazione che viene eseguita sulla bucce, abbastanza rara per un vitigno dal grappolo bianco; quindi nel colore si accentuano i toni più sul dorato che sul giallo paglierino tenue. I profumi si esprimono in tutta la loro eleganza dagli erbacei ai floreali per passare ai fruttati di polpa gialla. Intensità valorizzata dal perlage abbastanza fine, in bocca risulta secco, abbastanza caldo e abbastanza morbido. Fresco e sapido quanto basta. Da servire tra i 6 e gli 8 gradi centigradi. Da abbinare a dei frutti di mare o come aperitivo.
