Modus 2004 azienza Ruffino

This blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon is a typical blend in Tuscany. Unfortuanatly this wine wasnt even typical. Ruffina, one of the more well known brands from this region and one of the biggest sellers to the American market, definatly let us down on this one. Ok, so maybe im being a bit harsh, I mean it was drinkable but just over astringent and alcoholic. The color was typical and the bouquet was hopeful, but the finess and harmony of a great wine just wasnt there. Too much vanilla, lack of fruit, overall unbalanced. If you do decide to get this bottle make sure you eat something strong with, like sausage or BBQ!

Un blend fra Sangiovese Merlot e Cabernet Sauvignon , Igt della Toscana della casa vinicola Ruffino. Bene anzi non tanto, mi ha convinto poco beh per essere un prodotto di punta di una azienda famosa come questa forse qualcosa di più poteva dare . Colore rubino con riflessi granati, consistente e al naso intenso e abbastanza complesso, per dire manca della finezza. In bocca interessante l'ingresso con tannini vellutati ma si spegne e si dimentica troppo in fretta, la vaniglia la fa da padrona tra la frutta rossa e la liquirizia, una frescezza che si sente ma ti aspetti di più. Troppo tempo in barrique.
Ottimo con dei rigatoni e salsiccia.
